VINTAGE NINJA.net is a stream-of-consciousness look at shinobi-inspired media and pop-culture artifacts from decades (and in a few cases centuries) past. Fans of old ninja movies, manga, and collectibles are going to find a lot of great material here.

Beside the black-clad commandos we know and love as ‘ninja’ you’ll also find extended family like masked vigilantes and hooded detectives, trouble-making wizards and mischievous magicians, short-skirted shadow-skilled sword girls, and more.

While the contributors to this site were major ninja nerds in the 1980’s, Vintage Ninja is actually born in the frustration of realizing how much more was out there that never made it to U.S. shores. After years of discovery, we now showcase an ever-growing collection of film images from the original 60’s cinema craze in Japan, manga art and printed media going back to the turn of the century, and all sorts of antique shinobi heritage we hardly had a chance to see during the glory days of the 80s international ninja boom.
